Savanna Nightjar

The Savanna Nightjar is about 20~26 cm long and not too big. Even though it is a common resident bird. Well-camouflaged night nightbird usually found on gravel river beds roosting, open grassland fields, rooftops, or roadsides. Often, when roosting, it is found in small loose flocks.

In certain areas of its distribution, it is fairly well suited to urban life and is sometimes found in cities and city edges.

Gray-brown, intricately patterned with less white than most nightjars; only males have a comparatively small white spot at the tip of the wing. Most frequently heard, replicated over and over by its familiar, high-pitched, burry "chree-ik" tune.
